The Audacious Alpha Lambda Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc was chartered on the campus of Texas Southern University on April 28, 1928.

 

Texas Southern University which is located in the heart of Houston, TX is a Historically Black University that was founded in 1927. Texas Southern University prides itself on being a change agent on the local, national and international stage and is one of the nation's largest historically black universities.

 

The chapter currently has 32 members and as a leading international, nonprofit, community service organization, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.’s mission is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization’s programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically and economically. We meet the challenges of the day and continue to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
